Water Culture and Art

Water Lilies - Monet

This picture is Water Lilies by Claude Monet. Claude painted it during 1889 because painters wanted to express perspective with their paintings. It is an impressionist oil painting.

In the painting you can find the flower garden (in Giverny) of Monet.
Plants, reflections in water of willows and water only interested the artist. Water lilies are actually compositions based on colored spots. Here water is so important because it is associated with nature and how it needs water to survive.

We have chosen this painting because Claude Monet's paintings are so flashy and you can find lots of different details on them, just as water is so interesting because of all the implications it has got in our lives.
